This animate is a visual adaptation to a talk given at the RSA by Sir Ken Robinson, world-renowned education and creativity expert, and recipient of the RSA's Benjamin Franklin award. His speech, on Changing Paradigms of Education, puts some of New Zealand recent educational policy in a global context, (not is a positive way). It is very interesting and the amazing animation makes it a very easy watch. His message really resonates amongst the challenges facing schools today. It is 11 minutes along so hang in there and sadly his full conclusion is not included, but you will get the idea to his message. Watch out for the amazing bit on ADHD / Ritolin around the 3.30 mark.

Wow!
I remembered pretty much everything that was mentioned in that speech because of the way it was presented.
It illustrates perfectly that sketching ideas whilst speaking (one of our Dyslexia Aware strategies that we will begin to implement in our classrooms this term)is an incredibly powerful tool indeed.
In an ideal world we would cover the walls in whiteboards and all go on speed sketching courses!
I agree - it was 'doubly' powerful. I wish I could draw like that!
I've been trying to understand this and explain to my children why/how/where they fit in this 'system' for years - if only I'd learnt how to sketch (oh ... and how to analyse and clearly articulate in an interesting and engaging manner would come in handy too)! I bet Ken would really like Playcentre philosophy. I'm glad he exposes the ADHD/ritalin sham too.
